Data collected

• The web address, title, author, and full extracted text of each page you save (stored locally in your browser)
• Read/unread and archived status, tags, and the date you saved each item (stored locally)
• Extension settings (stored locally)
• If you use the "Report a problem" form: the message you type, and your email address only if you choose to include one

Permissions

• storage / unlimitedStorage — Stores your saved articles, their read/archived state, and your settings locally in the browser.
• activeTab + scripting — Reads the content of the page you are on only when you click Save (or use the shortcut), to extract the article text.
• contextMenus — Adds the "Save link to Read Later" item to the right-click menu.
• Host access: <all_urls> (optional, off by default) — Only requested if you use "Fetch article" on an imported link; lets the extension load that page in the background to extract its text. You can decline or revoke it anytime.

Additional notes

• Everything you save is stored only on your device (in the browser's IndexedDB) and is never uploaded, synced, or tracked. Read Later has no account and no server for your library.
• The extension reads a page's content only when you actively save it — via the toolbar button, the keyboard shortcut, or the right-click menu. It does not read pages in the background.
• Opening a saved article renders text only, with images and scripts removed, so reading an article makes no network requests. Use "View original article" to open the live page when you want the images or layout.
• The optional "Report a problem" form sends the message you type — and your email only if you provide one — to Ibotyle Services so we can respond. This is the only data the extension transmits. The Chrome Web Store listing discloses this as personally identifiable information and personal communications.
• Importing a Pocket export reads only the file you choose; imported links are stored locally like anything else. Fetching the full text of an imported link is optional and off by default — the extension asks the first time and you can revoke that access anytime.
• No data is sold, and none is transferred for purposes unrelated to the extension.
