Data collected
- The name of each person you add, and their phone number, email address, and photo if you pick them from the system contact picker (on Android, the phone-number picker returns the name and number; email and photo are typed by you)
- On iPhone, a reference to the contact you picked (the identifier iOS assigns it), stored alongside the copied details
- The follow-up cadence, next-due date, any snooze you set, and the date you added each person
- Interactions you log: the date, and an optional note you type
- Feedback you choose to send (optional)
Permissions
- Notifications — Delivers the follow-up reminders. Reconnect has no other way to reach you, so declining this disables its core function.
- Contacts (not requested) — Reconnect uses the system contact picker, which returns only the one contact you tap. It never requests access to your contact list and cannot read it.
Additional notes
- Everything above about the people you add is stored only on your device, in an app container shared with the Reconnect widget. It is never transmitted anywhere. The one exception to Reconnect sending anything at all is the feedback form, described below.
- Reconnect has no user accounts, and no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. Nothing is collected in the background, and nothing is sent unless you tap Send in Settings → Send feedback.
- If you send feedback, Reconnect sends us the message you typed and the category you picked, together with the app version, your phone model, your iOS or Android version, your language, and a random identifier the app creates on first run — not your name, your email address, your Apple Account or Google account, or any identifier Apple, Google or anyone else can tie to you (never the Android advertising ID or device ID). It never includes anything about the people on your list. Feedback is stored on your device until you have a connection, then sent, and deleted from our side automatically within 75 days.
- Because the feedback message is free text, please do not type personal details into it. We read every message but cannot reply to them.
- Reconnect does not request Contacts permission on either platform. Choosing someone from the system picker copies their details into Reconnect at that moment; Reconnect never reads your contact list and does not see contacts you did not pick.
- Contact details copied at pick time are never re-read afterwards, so editing or deleting a contact in the Contacts app does not change what Reconnect already stored. Delete the person in Reconnect to remove it.
- On iPhone, the stored contact reference is inert: without Contacts permission Reconnect cannot use it to look anyone up, and it is never sent anywhere. It exists only so a person you added stays linked to the entry you created. The Android version stores no contact reference.
- Deleting a person deletes their logged interactions. Deleting the app removes all Reconnect data from your device.
- The one-time purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store on iPhone, and by Google through Google Play on Android. Ibotyle Services does not receive or store your payment details.
- Android: reminders are delivered by the Android notification system and the widget reads the same on-device data; Reconnect uses no exact-alarm, foreground-service or background-location permission, and no advertising or analytics library.
- No data is sold, and none is transferred for purposes unrelated to the app.
